Brooklyn Eats: Something’s cookin’ in Brooklyn

Ask any Brooklynite where to find some of the best cuisine in the world, and they’ll all tell you the same thing: Brooklyn! A bit biased? Perhaps. Completely true? We like to think so. Sure, you could grab a bagel from the grocery aisle or a slice from any old pizza chain, but why would you ever dream of doing that?!

BK’s latest food scene mixes the borough’s old favorites with a new generation of food creatives turning out some truly innovative and impressive bites (and sips). And what better way to sample the goods than to swing through Brooklyn Eats, a specialty food and beverage trade show on June 27, hosted by the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. There’s nothing you can’t find in Brooklyn, so if you’re not busy sampling the goods, you’re doing something wrong!

Here’s how the event works: BK makers will be offering samples and selling on site (you’re welcome). If you’re up for a heartier bite, don’t leave without a visit to the Brooklyn Eats food court. All of this will be taking place at 630 Flushing Ave, the former Pfizer Building. This hub of Brooklyn innovation is an impressive model of cooperative creativity in a mammoth and historic building. Trust me, it’s worth a visit.

Get yourself over to Brooklyn Eats by taking the G train to Flushing Avenue (it’s a quick walk from the subway stop). The show opens to the public at 10 a.m., and from 3-5 p.m. Brooklyn Eats will be open exclusively to food/beverage buyers. For more info, tickets, and directions visit Brooklyn Eats.
