Like any town, Brooklyn has its share of multiplexes and chain theaters where you can catch the latest blockbusters. But visitors should take advantage of the borough’s many unique cinema experiences — from spots where you can eat and drink while you watch arthouse flicks, to preserved historic movie houses.

Nitehawk Cinema (Williamsburg)
This indie theater is known for its Film Feasts — screenings that pair a movie with a meal inspired by the flick (think the The Godfather: Part II plus beer and Italian food, or The Goonies with tamales and chocolate chip cookies). You can also catch selected first-run movies here and order from a rotating menu of upscale nosh, beer, wine, and cocktails. There’s even a bar and a café in the lobby, if you feel like sticking around after the show.
