The worst experience at a hotel @SheratonBrooklyn. We booked a room through 3rd party Booking.com. At arrival to the hotel, there was an excessively long line circling the length of the lobby. We waited 45 mins, while the ONE @SheratonBrooklyn receptionist worked to resolve a customers issue. We asked was here other staff to assist with check-in and was told all were on break. After an hour on line, 3 hotel reps return to the front desk at the same time. We began to check-in and were informed that inorder to complete our check-in an additional $250 is needed for the “room deposit”. Totalling our one evening hotel stay way over what our 3rd party agreement was for the evening @SheratonBrooklyn. We reviewed this with the front desk receptionist, instead of asisiting us, she insulted us for not “doing more research whenever booking a room with a 3rd party site”. Well in fact, we called @SheratonBrooklyn that morning to confirm reservation and confirm the pool and rooftop ammenities were available during our stay. And reassured all was well and the pool was opened until 10pm and the roof is opened every night until 12am. Upon arrival we learn the rooftop is closed that day and it took 2 hours at reception to resolve reimbursement. She was unaware of our efforts and continued by impling the issue was our being unable to afford the hotel fees. We explained the 3rd party website mentioned additonal “fees” and not a deposit and not in the excessive amount of $250. Horribly, what was to be fun weekend. Instead, ended up in chaos because of an unexplained Brooklyn NY hotel #trend to charge a depsoit during their stay. It was the 3rd party site that resolved the issue and provided us with a 5 star hotel in Brooklyn for a similar rate.

Dear Sir or Madam, I did an e-mail 24 hours ago to sales@sheratonbrooklynnewyork.com and I still did not get a response. I’m wondering if that address is still valid. I usually get a response from hotels around the world in less time than that, even less than an hour on occasions. Since Sheraton is a major hotel chain, I am somewhat surprised with respect to the delay. Below is the inquiry I sent: Dear Sir or Madam, I plan on attending a fight at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, on March, the 4th. Even though I tend to stay in Manhattan when I’m in New-York, I’m considering Brooklyn this time around given the fact that I’ll be traveling alone. My wife is not interested in the fight! Your hotel is on top of my list for three reasons : 1. Its proximity to the Barclay’s 2. The 24 hour fitness center 3. The rooms with a terrace Despite the fact that your website shows rooms with a terrace, it’s not available when selecting a room type, neither does it appear on booking.com. I don’t know if it is caused by a bug or if said rooms are not available. Therefore, I’d appreciate it if you were kind enough to instruct me on what to do to secure a room like that. I am a smoker but I never stay in a room where smoking is permitted due to the fact that I don’t tolerate the smell inside my room, which is why a terrace is a must for me. I usually book my rooms through booking.com (except for Vegas). My dates are February, the 28th through March, the 6th 2017. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Best regards, Mohamed. H
