Smorgasburg – Williamsburg
Smorgasburg happens in two locations every weekend: Saturdays at East River State Park—Kent Ave. and N. 7 St.—on the Williamsburg waterfront; and Sundays at Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Pier 5. Both locations are open from 11am to 6pm, and feature packaged and prepared foods, beverages, and more from purveyors from New York City and across the region, for a total of 75-100 vendors. The markets are always open rain or shine.

They have so many different, unique and incredibly tasting vendors and you will not leave empty handed. Whether that means with a donut in hand, hand crafted drinks or maybe a bottle of miso dressing, you’re bound to find something you love. This is a rain or shine venue so plan accordingly. As the website says, locations are open from 11am to 6pm, and feature anywhere between 75-100 vendors. Get there early as long lines form, especially for the popular bbq and ramen burger places. The wing place has a nice picnic area with a bar for sitting and enjoying the view and ambiance of the park. Spend a whole day and take a tour of the cuisines of the world from Mexico to India to Thailand to Texan BBQ. The park also has a ton of great places to sit and enjoy your purchases while taking in panoramic views of Midtown Manhattan. Read More

There are so many stands to choose from that it is overwhelming, everywhere you look you see something you want to try. My suggestion is to go with a small group so that you can each try the foods you want, but then you can taste test what your friends get. It’s a win-win situation. You really can’t go wrong- just pick a stand and start from there. I recommend going to the stands with smaller portions so that you can try more things without filling up. This is easier said then done. I speak from experience after having a parsley panko schnitzel sandwich with pickled cucumbers, daikon, shallots, ginger, and caramelized onion mustard that was served on fresh pretzel bread. It’s called the Bamberg and the stand is called Schnitz and it was incredible. Read More
