In weather like this, is there anything better than hot chocolate? (The correct answer is no.) These four Brooklyn cafes in Cobble Hill, Park Slope, and Williamsburg serve the richest, most decadent and satisfying cups you could ask for.
The Chocolate Room (Carroll Gardens)
With a name like “The Chocolate Room,” you know these guys take chocolate very seriously. The cafe serves “drinking chocolate” in a variety of ways: with milk chocolate or bittersweet Belgian chocolate, with Ancho and Chipotle chiles, with coffee or espresso. You can also buy specialty cocoas or hot chocolate mixes, so you can make your own at home.

Handsome Dan’s Snocone & Candy Stand (Williamsburg)
This old-school candy shop is a lot of fun and specializes in snocones. But when it’s just too cold for a Chocolate Milk Snocone, go for the hot chocolate instead. They serve it with steamed milk and quality chocolate — an excellent, simple hot cocoa.

Nunu Chocolates (Park Slope)
This snug Park Slope cafe serves coffee, beer, and wine, but the creative varieties of hot cocoa are not to be missed. You can order your hot chocolate classic, spicy, or even with Amarula or Absinthe for an extra kick. Nunu also sells house-made “Cozy Hot Chocolate” mix to bring with you.
