There’s so much to see, eat, and do in Brooklyn these days that the borough has moved out of Manhattan’s shadow to become a destination in its own right. That doesn’t mean, however, that Brooklynites don’t like looking at Manhattan. In fact, the Brooklyn waterfront offers some of the best views of the city around. The towering city skyline is inspiring to both natives and visitors alike — and here are the best places in Brooklyn to see it.
Williamsburg
The Williamsburg waterfront is more or less covered in parkland — the perfect place to view the skyline. The views from North Brooklyn are also the most expansive and impressive in all of Brooklyn, with the entire city on view. The East River State Park and Bushwick Inlet Park are both public parks offering amazing views, and great spots to picnic. These parks do get crowded on weekends, though, so watch out for flying frisbees.
For views of Manhattan from a rooftop bar, try the Upper Elm at the King & Grove Hotel or The Ides at the Wythe Hotel.
