Franklin Avenue, the main drag of north Crown Heights, is packed to the brim with fun things to do. Over the last few years a number of restaurants, bars, cafes and shops have opened up and put the neighborhood on the map.
Here are six places not to miss, including Mexican food at Chavela’s, shopping at Owl and Thistle, and coffee from Pulp & Bean. Even if you don’t live nearby, Franklin Avenue is easy to visit, right off of the 2/3 and 4/5 subway lines.
Little Zelda
Little Zelda (named after the owner’s daughter) is a very cute, very cozy espresso bar and cafe. The place also serves treats, baked goods, beer, wine and tapas. The espresso beans, from Toby’s Estate in nearby Williamsburg, make for a mean espresso. Order that with a cheddar biscuit, nab one of the outdoor tables, and you’re set for the afternoon.
