Whether you’re in the mood for fresh salmon, an oyster happy hour, or a lobster roll, you’ll find what you’re looking for at Brooklyn’s many seafood restaurants. These four in Cobble Hill, Crown Heights, Williamsburg, and Greenpoint offer some of the best selections in the borough, offering everything from sublime sushi to classic fish and chips.

Bergen Hill (Carroll Gardens)
Bergen Hill is a charming, intimate restaurant with New American seafood, small plates, and fancy cocktails. The seafood here is served with care — scallops with carrots and quinoa, a black bass with tomatillo, octopus with onion puree. It’s our vote for the perfect date night for seafood lovers.

The Crabby Shack (Crown Heights)
This cozy and casual seafood joint, as the name suggests, specializes in crab. The menu offers crab in full plates with sides like potatoes, corn and broccoli. You could also order crab in a roll, taco, or slider — the place is particularly known for its crab roll. There are also dishes like the crab BLT, crab mac and cheese, and — for those looking for variety – a half pound of spicy steamed shrimp.

Maison Premiere (Williamsburg)
This New Orleans–style restaurant is the place if you’re craving oysters. The self-proclaimed “Oyster House and Cocktail Den” serves up a very long, impressive list of oysters alongside inventive cocktails. (There’s also a very popular oyster happy hour with $1 oysters from 4 to 7 p.m.) The dinner menu includes seafood chilled on ice, seafood crudo, and entrées featuring salmon, scallops, and pork belly.

Lobster Joint (Greenpoint)
For traditional New England comfort food in Brooklyn, look no further than the Lobster Joint. The place is known for its lobster roll, but you can eat the seafood in a variety of ways here — in a salad, soup, mac and cheese, and even shepherd’s pie. There’s also lots of other seafood to pick from, including oysters, crab, clams, salmon, and pollock. This is food best enjoyed at the communal patio tables outside.
